It would be an easy mod - just remember that this is the "wish list" for Forest River to think about...

It should be very easy to install a 120v outlet on the street side of your 171 - particularly if you mount it close to the converter, so that your wire runs are all inside the dinette seat.

That's a good idea. Might be the answer.

What about installing a 12V "porch" light on the the drivers side and front (like the one on the curb side) to aid in your set up in the dark?

I'm sure they could. The question is would they? It can't hurt to ask. Terry |

That would be nice to have an outlet on that side. Is this something that could be ordered thru FR for someone who is about to buy an R-Pod?

It shouldn't be to hard to add outside outlets. Ground fault ones with covers.

The only outlet on the left (street) side is inside the fridge compartment, and due to regulations the 2nd outlet is blocked. Even if it were available nothing could be permanently plugged in w/o leaving the lower cover off. It would be nice to have an external outlet on that side.
In my case, if I arrive at my site after dark I like to plug in a few AC lights so I have good visibility during setup (if I don't have full hookups I have an inverter in the tow vechicle). I could run an extension cord around the side, but its an extra step I don't need when I first back in. I could use battery-powered or gas-powered spotlights or lanterns but I don't need them the rest of the time I camp so I'd rather not carry them. Also there can be camping situations where the street side is the best side to "set up camp". With AC lines already run on both sides of the 'pod it would be fairly easy to add an extra box and outlet to the design.
