So, after much debate and great advice from R-Podders, we went with the 179 (over the 180).

Going to pick it up this weekend and want to start looking for all of the stuff I need now. Not looking for the pots, pans and dishes, but all of the other stuff that is good to have and maybe the stuff not to waste money on.

I have:

Tow Vehicle - Mazda CX-9 AWD with trailer package.
Class III hitch and electric brake controller.

Assume I need a:
cover (outside storage) got tips on forum
Camco Rhinoflex kit (15' or 20'?)
potable water hose

What else????

Thanks.

Welcome and happy camping. You will get some great advice off of this forum. I too, just went through this same thing when we purchased our 180 (over the 179) and got some great advice from this forum and other areas. here are a few things to consider that I purchased:

Surge protector
Voltage tester
50 amp to 30 amp power adapter
Water pressure regulator
Water filter
Clear black-water 45 degree elbow for flushing black water tank
Hose 'Y' adapter and two separate hoses (1 drinking and 1 utility)
Wheel chocks
Leveling blocks
Stabilizer jack pads
Small misc. tool kit

These are just a few that come to mind. I don't have my list with me.

Great, Guess I need to get the amazon prime all fired up.

Does these look about right.

50/30 = Is that a 30M/50F? About $15 from Camco 55185 PowerGrip 30M/50F AMP 18" Dogbone Electrical Adapter with Handles 3750W/125V

The Camco water pressure regulator without the gauge is the one I use. It works just fine. I don't need to adjust the pressure, just limit it to 50 psi or lower.

The adapter you are looking at is not needed. That is a 30A male to 50A female adapter. The R-Pod is 30A. You might want to get a 15A male to 30A female adapter if you don't have a 30A, 120V outlet.

My apologies, StephenH is correct, it was the 15 to 30 amp dogbone adapter that I purchased so I could plug in at home. I also just use the standard Camco pressure regulator without the gauge. As far as the 'Y' adapter goes, I stayed away from the "cheap" plastic one and purchased a brass one with individual shutoffs.

I think many of us carry two hoses --one dedicated for drinking water and the other for utility and flushing the black water tank.  I also got an Anderson leveler which makes leveling very simple.  You will need a level if you don't already have one.  I recently got a pair of rubberized gloves from Harbor Freight that I use when draining the tanks.

My dealer had a "RV welcome kit" that came with the camper but maybe you didn't get one.  Our kit contained the sewer hose and connections as well as the water hose and pressure regulator (this item is very important).  There was and initial supply of holding tank chemicals.  Some of these kits come in a 5 gallon bucket --  handy to have and can double as a trash can.

If you plan on camping where there are full hook-ups, I would recommend a pair of large slip joint pliers as the covers on the sewers are sometimes misaligned and very hard to open.

An adapter so you can plug into 50 amps (male on the 50 amp side and female on the 30 amp side)

How often would that be needed? All the places I have been to since we purchased our R-Pod that have had power have had 20A and 30A plugs. If there was a 50A, the others were present also.

Consider a 90 degree water hose adapter to connect fresh water hose to pod. Prevents the hose just sticking straight out being a trip hazard. We also purchased a small electric space heater for about 20 dollars. Does not get hot enough to be a fire hazard but keeps the pod fairly warm in moderate temps without using LP gas. 50 to 30 adapter?  Not considered that but I figure if I find I need one then I am probably at the wrong campground ($$$).
