Thank you. I had a contingency plan. If it were to be totaled, I was looking at a Coachmen Apex Nano. However, I am glad ours is going to be repaired. I have a lot of hours invested in it with the various modifications I have made. I had pulled out my 12V outlets, USB charging ports, and voltmeter in case the cost was too great to repair and it would be totaled. There are several other things I removed which will stay out for now. However, the 12V outlets, USB charging ports, and voltmeter are back in since those are in parts that should not be touched in the repair process. Other modifications will stay uninstalled until after the repairs are completed.

I am waiting on a reply from Forest River to let me know when and how to get the R-Pod to them. I want to find out how much if they transport it from our dealer to the factory and then return it to our dealer. If R-Pods are being delivered there, the one transporting may be happy to have something to take back rather than run empty. It may be that we will decide to only let it get taken to the factory for repair and then drive to the factory to pick it up. If we do, I would like to try to get a factory tour if it is allowed.

It may be we will be taking it both ways. If so, I want to find out if it can be done while we wait in the area or if we would need to make two trips. I'd rather make only one.

Yes, but I would like to avoid ice and snow this time.

StephenH, You were very helpful to me when I had some electrical questions. I am very sorry to read about all you have gone through recently. As many others have said, we are just glad that you were not injured. I hope your repairs can be done quickly, and with a minimum of additional travel for you. Thanks for taking the time to 'take us along on your repair journey". I am glad you are staying an RPODDER, and am hoping you are back on the road soon. Best wishes!! Ira

I am excited that we can get our R-Pod fixed. It is all emptied out now and waiting on word about transportation. I hope it can be done by spring so we can get it set back up and do some camping before our planned trip this summer.

Latest update:
I finally got the transportation cost estimate. If all goes well, our escaPOD will leave here the first week of April and be taken to the factory. It will be scheduled for work the 1st of May. However, if other work is finished early, it could get started earlier. I was told to expect it to stay there at least 30 days.

My wife and I are talking about having it taken up to the factory, but going up and retrieving it when the work is completed. That will give us the opportunity to do several things. One is to tour the factory. The second is to stop on the way back to see a couple of places we want to visit. The Ark Encounter is one. My wife wants to visit the Quilting Museum in Paducah, KY as another. It would be a good shakedown cruise when all is completed.

We may miss out on our spring camping, but it should be good to go for our planned summer travel, God willing.
