I am buying a 2015 RP179 (will receive it in May) and will be pulling it with a 2007 Lexus RX350. Should I purchase mirror extensions?

Due to the narrow body of the R-Pod mirror extensions aren't required.  I guess it comes down to personal taste. We tow our 177 with an Explorer, no mirror extensions.  I have seen many flavors of pods towed by as many different tow vehicles.  Do not recall ever seeing one towed with extended mirrors.  But now that I've said that, to be sure there are some who use them and will let us both know.Smile

Probably should get the mirror extensions. A lot of states require them while towing.

Thanks Leo for that.  What states require?  We have gone North, South, West, and limited East, as far as Pennsylvania and have never been cited or pulled over for not having them.  Will do a google search.

I have towing mirrors on my Silverado, factory style. As Leo said some states do require them. Not many I have been to. The RPod has great visibility. Mine are power, heated and extendable, with a convex manual mirror on the bottom, so basically they are a dual mirror on each side. I can make clear lane changes which is an advantage and see the entire side of the TT, to include tires.

I had a Lexus RX 350 and now a GX 460. Can see everything in the side mirrors and the blind spot monitors still function normally. That is picky chicken s@@t State Police enforcement that I never would be worried about.

Most states interpretation is: If you can't see out of the rear view mirror, you have to have other mirrors that can offer a view of the rear, some to 200 feet.
