We have not, but another couple we ride tandems with, SHE is a freeking monster, he hooked up a drive on her stationary trainer to attach their GrainMaker grain mill to... so she makes a couple cups of flour every day while riding the trainer, and he bakes bread and cookies with the "proceeds".. it's a win-win as they say.. LOL

Oh, and on the shorts.. A) try "bibs" I have always like them better, and, B) look at Mt. Biking shorts, they have a inner liner with pad, and a more.. "casual" look on the outside...

If you get a set of rollers like a real cyclist.. you will find you dress appropriately.. No one want's EMT's to find them in a bathrobe.. Although, with maybe 1000 miles on my rollers, I never have crashed... bad.
