So we live in the desert and any water appearing where it shouldn't be really freaks the wife.  We started out to see a few of the National Parks west of the Mississippi this year and have encountered only two issues.

The first was a failed water pressure reducer and the second is extraneous water in the wet bath in the 179.  There isn't very much -  less than a couple of tablespoons -  and it hasn't done any damage because of the location.  The only thing common about its appearance is that it occurs after we have been driving in the rain.

This makes me think that it leaks around the fan cover.  Has anyone else encountered this?  if so is there a fix short of replacing the fan?   What other possibilities are there?

Curious if the failed pressure reducer caused damage in your interior plumbing? How did you know it had failed?

Water will certainly come in through the fan if you leave the cover open, which we do all the time.  If the cover is tightly closed and still leaks you should first look up top and see if it need need to be resealed.  I can't remember the name of the stuff, but any RV place will know exactly what you need.  It's stuff that self-levels -- it's not exact like caulk -- and it's a very easy DIY project.

Try Dicor self-leveling sealant. It is great for sealing leaks.

GlueGuy --   the way I knew I had a failure was the fresh water tank had filled and was overflowing.  The pressure reduction valve was several (like 7+) years old so I wasn't surprised.  Water pressure is something that I wish campgrounds would let you know about ahead of time.  I've had a couple of places put it on their site maps but usually in rather small print.

The water tank doesn't fill, let alone overflow, when you're on "city" water.  Sounds more like a stuck check valve between your city line and your tank.  It's never happened to me but it's not an uncommon thing to happen.  Furpod or someone can explain the fix I'm sure.

ArenaBlanca,

I have one of the water pressure regulators with a gauge and it is adjustable. Believe it is preset to 45, but can be changed with a screw adjustment. I like the gauge, I'm a visual person.

I have had issue with check valve sticking which allows city water to enter fresh water tank., it can get foreign material in it, mine was construction material. One thing I do now is monitor the levels of the fresh water tank while on city water, that way I know it is filling and I don't load up and travel with a full water tank. The way I dislodged material was to cycle on and off the water pump, and turn Hot and Cold water on in sink while on water pump. Also check your screen filter at the water pump, you may see the material trapped there. Then go back to step 1 and monitor your fresh water tank just to make sure it is not filling on city water. If it still is you will need to visually inspect the check valve. People have reported issues. I try and exercise my fresh water system, I think some folks never use it. The 100% campground people (like me). Happy Trails.

We had a leak in the same spot on our 2017 179.  It caused quite a lot of ceiling damage.
