Do not change your breaker from 15 to 20 amps.you would also have to change the gage of the wire from the breaker to the outlet.this breaker swop could burn your house down

+1 - do not modify an existing circuit. If you want a 30 amp 120 service add it.

20 amp circuits require 12 awg wire. 15 amp circuits use 14 awg. With a 20 amp breaker the 14 awg can get pretty hot and the breaker may not trip. We put in a 30 amp outside plug on the side of our garage and it works great and it wasn't expensive.

Good points guys! I should have clarified that I (had) put in all new 20 amp circuits (a bunch of quads and outside gfci) with my garage renovation. Garage has it's own panel. So, yes, all new wiring...to code. Good catch!
I should add. I did think about putting in a dedicated 30Amp when I did the renovation, but I move the pod around a bit from driveway to back-by-the-wood-pile, so a few 20amp plugs made more sense - and I use a fair amount of power hungry tools at times. Advice from electrician.

Mine cost about $150 in material for close to 100' of run. I have a small weatherproof 30A panel on the side of the garage, and there was a little plastic conduit involved.
