Tire balancing was suggested to me by a close friend.  His comment was that trailer tires are notorious for being unbalanced and vibrate a trailer excessively.

So....I took my RPod tires and wheels into the tire shop for balancing.  They called me shortly after and said that the tires were so out-of-round that they were unable to spin balance them at all.  I suggested they remount both tires and then try again.  They did so and were able to get them somewhat balanced but not like a passenger tire at all.

Is it the cheap tires Forest River puts on the Rpods?

Anyone else have this issue?

Normal for manufacturers to buy in bulk and not balance, I also balanced my tires when I replaced with Ds. I posted a comment some months back about an observation I had with tires in general, that it took excessive weight to balance them and not centric to a manufacturer. Like the tire world went left somewhere.

My original factory tires were so far out of balance they couldn't be corrected with weights and were wearing very unevenly. Had about 10,000 miles or so on them. I put a new pair of sneakers (Freestar) while in Florida about 18 months ago and had them balanced. Noticeable ride difference and after several thousand miles they are wearing evenly.

Tire balancing on the Pod.....thanks for this as I never gave it much of a thought even though I have the vehicle tires balanced.  I'm looking at upgrading to a set of D's either this fall or next spring so I'll make sure they get balanced!

When we purchased our 177 back in 2011 the dealer strongly suggested we get the tires balanced which we did, I thought that was very good of the dealer to see that our ride would be safe.  After  22,000 miles on that set, plus they were 6 years old, we replaced with another comparable set and had them balanced as well, 3K miles on this set, rides smooth as silk.
