My wife happened to drive behind me as I towed the Pod and noticed that the tires were bowlegged (tilted out at the bottom).  And also noticed that the Pod was leaning over slightly on the slide-out side.
This is with the Pod empty of gear and water.

Is this normal?  The axle looks straight.

If you mean the axle looks straight, as in, you looked underneath, and it runs straight and flat across the camper.. It's bad. It is supposed to have an upward arch to it.The slide side lean has been noted before. On a unloaded pod, it carries more weight on that side.

thanks furpod.  I'll measure it to see if there is an upward bow.  I don't see an obvious upward bow.

You mean the tires are tilted like this   /----\   ? , How much? Put something like a 2' framing square up and see. And, not to doubt wifey but You need to see this for yourself. The axle in the pod is not like a small cars independent suspension that if you load to much the tires will tilt. I think the only way they would tilt is if the axle is bent down in the middle.
Mine do not tilt at all loaded or unloaded and my axle is straight.

Yes, the tires are slightly tilted like this   /----\   and it's with the Pod unloaded.  I think it will get much more pronounced when it's normally loaded with gear and water tank full.  I do understand that the Pod axle is different than a car.

I measured my axle with a long carpenter's level and it is bowed UP about a 1/4" in the middle.

thanks

Use a carpenters square to make sure it's not an optical illusion. The fenders can get bent down a bit, and it will cause you to see the off angle across the tire face, but they are still square(ish) to the ground. Our Pod had this.. "issue". After "someone" sat on a fender... Wink
