Why does my fan WFCO converter fan continue to run when I have power connected to the R-Pod 179.

It runs when the load on the converter is sufficient to need cooling. As far as I know since the converter is not active except when the Pod is on shore power the only time it will run is when the Pod is plugged in.

Jonskipro,
Does it run all the time? Never shut off? That could indicate a continuous load. I would do some battery checks, make sure battery is not constantly charging with all 12V accessories off. Also make sure fan is clean, no pet hair or debris, that could make cooling difficult and fan running. My first action would be to look at battery and charging. |

+2. Ours runs when first plugged in, but stops when the battery charge state is sufficient.
One question: Are you perchance running your refrigerator on battery instead of AC when plugged in or on gas when it is not plugged in? Plugged in, that would put a constant load on the 12V system which would keep your converter working hard to supply the demand. If it is after you tow, then your TV may not be supplying sufficient current to both run the refrigerator and charge the battery/batteries adequately. That would mean it would have to work longer when it is finally plugged in to get the battery/batteries charged. |
