Great photos Fred, thanks for sharing them. We didn't get time to hike down to the bottom of the canyon but just enjoyed the sights. I observed from the viewing area at the park down in the canyon that there is a little sliver of private land which some lucky owner has a cabin built on it across the river. I wish I could of seen how does the owners of this cabin gain access to their cabin? I could see with my binoculars no access road to it or view a bridge to it but that it has solar panels mounted for power. Interesting place and hope to explore more of the area and the upper Allegheny River area in the future.

Dave,

Another park to consider is Ricketts Glen State park. If you like hiking a trail with one beautiful waterfall after the next, it's a must. This was one of our first podding experiences. We have learned a lot since then.

P.S. Yes, I do remember seeing that homestead in the bottom of the canyon and wondering the same.

Fred,
Thanks for the tip on Ricketts Glen State Park. Our oldest son married a girl from Wilkes-Bare so he's now marooned there forever more so were always on the look out for some place nearby that we can camp. Unfortunately we haven't found a whole lot of close by options to there.
