Been waiting for a sale and Presidents Day was it!

Had two in mind:
or

With months of waiting and research, I found out their the same.. REALLY?? Made by the same company.

The Gator was on sale. The Backflip was not. Yup, went for the Gator!

Not too bad to install. Would be easier if you had a 3rd arm (which I don't), but with the assistance of the Wife (she's mine guys) it went pretty smooth.

My other truck I have a cap on (F-150) and it's a bit of a pain getting at anything up in the bed (and I have Gull wing windows on it). Thought Tonneau this time around.

I like the looks. Seems pretty secure (as I hoped) and still have rail space to do some sort of rack system if I so choose.

Really liking!

I have a tonneau cover on my frontier. I love the thing. It's made, or sold under the name "extang". I can actually stand on it. It locks down if i want so it's somewhat secure. It comes off , or goes back on in minutes. I was looking at adding a rack system also, but ran into a few roadblocks and put it on the back burner.

We have a Leer cap and use a small step ladder to get in and out of the back. Have the Thule racks on the cap o carry our canoe.

I looked Extang as well. Had a few Cons I couldn't get past (dollar not being one). Good hard cover and  will not say not to buy, but just didn't hit my needs/wants.

Really like the option of the front panel opening, but... Doesn't open all the way for 'full' bed loading. Also bothered me about that key lock failing... Hey, just me and I'm weird.. LOL

Have a friend that made one heck of a slide out bed with his cap. 3/4" plywood and two pieces of Uni-Strut. Should think about that.. I did.

I'm on a path of low profile and secure containment. A rail system to hold (?) is in the future.

I see my cap as too vulnerable.
