It's just me (maybe) but I ONLY turn on the water heater and the water pump when I need them. The water heater heats up pretty rapidly, even 15 minutes may be enuf.
I didn't think about turning off the city water when gone for awhile. That seems to be a good idea.

I do that when boondocking and running only gas. The electric heater is a bit of a pain to turn off and on, requiring either a trip outside or bending way down to flip a breaker.
No need to turn off the electric side if you're boondocking. No AC power in the boonies Wink

Except my generators.

When I lived in my Pod for 90 days and would leave for the weekend, I would shut off city water and the water heater. I kept the electric live. Just too easy. When I returned I would turn city water back on and turn on water heater.
