We had 35 Jeeps show up for the poker run. There would have been more but one of the Jeep clubs in the area was having a club function that day. There was 5 check points where you could get a card. One guy got 5 Jacks!! What are the chances of that happening!!
I was at check point #2 all day. It was a little nerve racking because a bear had crossed the trail about 30' from where I was setting at a card table! It was a LARGE bear too! Good thing it wasn't hungry! Terry |

I've had some bear experiences. Once I was camped along the AT in Susquehanna and a bear came up 50 ft. from where we were sleeping and somehow got our bear bag out of the tree. The rope wasn't chewed - he untied it. It was just barely bright enough that I could tell something was moving around near that tree but I wasn't about to get up and find out. When we finally all got up a half hour later we traced the trail of debris through the woods and caught up to him. I looked up and there he was staring back at me. I still keep a chewed up plastic bottle with my camping gear as a reminder. So did each checkpoint give out a random card from a deck or set of decks? |

Each check point had a deck of cards. They would draw one, we filled in their registration card with the card info and they were off to the next stop. The card they drew was put back in the deck. To do the route took about 2.5 hours.
