Calendar Event: Squeeky faucet Posted: 14 Apr 2010 at 12:48am |
Hello, I am a recent owner of a new RP 175. I love the unit, having used it 2 times. But, can anyone tell me why my hot water faucet in the sink squeeks when I turn it on? It just started doing this. Also, my LP Gas regulator makes a noise that sounds like a beeping sound as soon as the gas is used. After a while, it stops. Any thoughts on this? For a new unit, I am surprised at the issues that seem to be cropping up!!

There has been much talk about the sounds from the LP Gas regulator. In my humble option I think it does have something to do with the regulator that is used on the camper. When I bought our 171 the first thing I had done was to remove the single tank and put on a dual tank with dual tank regulator. My gas has never made any sounds. not sure what you mean about the sounds from the sink. Is there air in the line you need to purge?
Camper build quality is for the most part pretty good but you will notice some items that just does not seem finished or right. Get a list together and take it back to your dealer and they will make it right. They are great campers and all kinds of mods you can do to them if you wish to make them work for you! Enjoy the R-pod. |

We had had the same problem with our 175 that we purchased last July. We did have the regulator and tank replaced at the factory. It still made a noise, but not nearly as loud as before. In my opinion, I also think the regulator is the problem. It's not unsafe, just annoying.

Its either the regulator or the backflow prevention valve. Not sure if anyone has figured that out for sure.

My hot water faucet did the same thing and then the handle broke off. I was able to put a wood screw in the part that was still attached and epoxy the handle to it. Curious to see how long this repair lasts.

Mine as well. Not sure what can be done, but I'd love to know what others have done to fix this!

The best option is to take it out and replace it with a good faucet. There are lots of options out there. This is probably the cheapest faucet I have seen.
