Just an FYI: Batteries Plus has DC24 marine batteries for $79.99, plus until the end of May there's a $10 mail-in rebate for a final cost of $69.99. These batteries are actually made by East Penn, an American company who also happens to make West Marine's SeaVolt house brand batteries. I picked up a pair today for the pod. No particular connection with Batteries Plus, West Marine, or East Penn, just thought if anyone was thinking of a battery upgrade this would be a good option. We had four DC31 Deka batteries on our boat, also made by East Penn. If my previous experience with the East Penn batteries is any example, I expect these new pod batteries will last for many years.

I live about 20 miles from East Penn - Deka and are able to pickup the seconds pretty cheap. I did check and they have DC24 Marine Batteries there so I may stop and get 2 from them. Thanks for making me remember about them.
They do make great batteries! |

Wish I had known a year ago - I bought 16 group 27 deep cycle batteries. The drive would have been worth it if they had what I needed and it was cheaper. I'll keep it in mind for the future.
