I see adapters where you can do it. At almost every camp site I have stayed has 50A, 30A and 20 A. Pod uses 30 A and I occasionally use the 20 A for exterior lighting etc. What I need to know is stepping amps 50 A to 20 A okay to do. They make the plugs. Just looking for 120v to run outdoor heat.

Most powered sites have an additional outlet in the power box. Why not use that outlet and an extension cord to power lights, etc. I know they make a 50A to 20A connector, but why use that. Or why not use the outside outlets on your Pod. Mine has those. Last time I used my heated water hose it was plugged into the power stanchion. I know you can do it, probably some risk, but with all your other power options, why?

I stated I use the 20 for lighting. Looking for heat. It draws more the the lights. Looking for another free 20 amps. Is that safe ? Typically how many amps are on the pedestal? 50 + 20?

50 Amps. That is what it is breakered at. The adapter will supply at a single 120, still at 50As. The 50A side is two 50A 120 circuits, for large RVS. It's not dangerous until something happens, better said destructive to what it is connected to. It won't kick until it exceeds 50As. Your adapter uses one 120V AC leg at 50As.

That answers my question. Thanks. I am in no way connecting 50 to 20 to my trailer. You guys that understand electricity are my source for info. I think I have it but always check.

How do you camp in freezing weather. Keep lines from freezing? I have a heated water hose. Looking for simple ways to heat underneath the trailer. I do not want to purchase skirts or fabricate a skirt and use them once a year.

That is a lengthy subject. I have done an extended cold weather stay. I had a heated water hose. I kept my black tank connected and open to the sewer. I did a drip every night. I never had a freeze except for the park water supply, the gray tank drain, at one point I put my heater under pod but it was little help. You can winterize and not use the water system, but I needed the full service. It was kind of a live and learn (daily) situation.

I always hook up to either the 50 (adapted to my 30 amp pod cord) or straight to the 30 amp. Everywhere i've camped with electric, they always have a 20 amp available.  But I bought two 20 amp x 50 ft extension cords. I run a 20 amp line to run different things. I use it for the ice maker, or if i use an electric griddle. It allows me to keep all 30 amps to use inside the pod, and 20 amps to run outside. That's my 2 cents
