This was my first mod for my 2016 Rpod 178. We do a lot of dry camping and I was disappointed that the TV only worked on AC. Not that you’re supposed to be watching TV when out camping, but a movie before bed is a nice way to relax. I found a 24” led flat screen ( instead of the small 19” Jensen) on Amazon for $129. Two of the mounting holes lined up with the existing bracket, and I added a wood shim to attach the other two screws. I then installed a cigarette lighter adapter that included 2 USB charging ports ( they even glow), that I picked up at a local RV store for $18. Why wouldn’t Forest River provide these basic necessities? The TV arrived 2 hours before our departure to Diamond Lake, so I installed everything the next morning in under an hour. The TV fits perfectly in the space provided, even the original strap worked fine. Much easier to watch from on the larger screen too. The stock Jensen system plays DVD’s on DC so reception is not an issue.
Note: I did upgrade my batteries to a dual set up after my first trip when the original single battery died the first day of our first outing. With the dual batteries we ran the heater and watched movies when we got rained out, still had enough juice for the 3 day trip.
