Camping near Niagara Falls, NY - you can't beat 4 Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown, NY.  Right on Lake Ontario with views across the Lake to the skyline of Toronto, Ontario Canada. Can often see big lake freighters plying the waters.  Easy freeway access to the Falls with a bonus of being able to park for FREE in Niagara Falls at the State Park parking area - the closest to the Falls.  From there it is easy walking distance to the edge of the Falls as well as Canada via the beautiful Rainbow Bridge (walk or drive) - best Falls views are from the Canadian side.  Bring your passport.  We spent 6 days there last October (drove from Idaho) and the autumn leaves were incredible throughout the Niagara area.  Enjoy!

It has been about 8 years, but we stayed at Black Bear Campground in Florida, NY. It is a private campground and is a 17 mile drive to the train station. We rode the train into NYC and loved every minute!

Good luck on your trip!

Actually, I just booked Niagra for mid july. I'm doing 5 days in the KOA in canada. I've never been, and I'm hoping for a good trip.

Welcome to Canada!!  If you're in the Niagara Falls KOA (on Lundy's Lane) make sure they don't put you in the back.  There is a large retaining wall there but right behind is a freight train track that has trains running back and forth throughout the night.  Many years ago we made the mistake of taking a site there when we were in tents with little kids.
In the RPod, you'll probably be fine but it's better to be aware.

Enjoy Niagara Falls... if you like cycling (even if you don't have bicycles with you, you can easily rent) there is a beautiful paved trail along the parkway all the way to Niagara on the Lake.  Lots of scenery, wineries, fruit stands and restaurants along the way.  We often go there in the summer just for a day of biking.

I was visiting Niagara Falls for my grandson's LAX tournament last year.  I stayed at an older campground called Cinderella on Grand Island.  Since I was only using it for a base of operations I found it convenient and it was nice to park under the trees. The KOA across the street was crowded, open area, and much more expensive.  Although the facility was older and not updated I found it very clean.  There is an older motel at the grounds that appears to have some permanent residents but they were nice enough.  They advertise cable and wifi but both are weak but I didn't care because I would rather read.
