Fortunately, we haven't camped in the south during the summer months, otherwise we would certainly most likely have an a/c unit as well.  Just returned from a 30 day 5500 mile excursion to Colorado and Utah and had a few instances where it did get warm such as Arches NP it reached 118 yet the next morning it was 35 and also a week later in Kodakrome SP it reached 120 but morning temp was only 36, high desert temp swings are amazing.  Even though the temp seemed quite high, the humidity was low, for me it was tolerable.  Much worse scenerio is when it reaches 90 in northern Michigan but the humidity is 70% - i struggle with that - very hard to even be outdoors in that with my asthma.

Well, change of plans.....after recalling that I rarely used my microwave when camping, I removed mine also...I guess I will do without microwave popcorn....but wow....is there a lot of storage space in the r-pod now....turns out that my previously messy dinette table and one dinette chair is a LOT cleaner and less cluttered with the microwave gone....whooda thunk...

Just a side note: I installed that unit into an open cabinet in my home kitchen....I have used it quite a bit already....and I will just leave it there whenever I sell this place.

BTW, the HighPointe convection/microwave weighs just over 45 pounds....that's a LOTTA WATTA I can haul for that weight savings.
