Hi everyone, my wife and I are looking into buying a R-pod 179. We live in western North Carolina and would be willing to drive and look at a 179 if it was in a reasonable drive.

We have a 179 and love it-I hope you find one.

Van,
We haven’t found a 179 at a dealer near us so we have only looked on line. Perhaps we could visit you and look at your rpod. Maybe in March?

You are welcome to look at our 179 at your convenience. Ours is a 2015 model which is basically the same as the new ones.  However, no pod is built the same-I'm sure there are lots of minor differences between the older and newer models.

We find that the 179 fits us perfectly.  There is a lot of storage space, a lot of kitchen counter space and all of the essentials are there. The slide makes this unit plenty large enough for 2 people to easily cook, lounge, dine, sleep and enjoy traveling.  It tows easily and we have had no issues with it .
We know 3 other friends that have 179's and they also love them and have no problems.

Good luck finding a good used or new unit.  this is our second pod and we bought both of them used.  with all of the new designs coming out, there are lots of 179 owners that are upgrading to larger units or newer floorplans--the problem is finding them.  Mooresville is near Charlotte, so a large metropolitan area should give you some choice.  Check all of the local dealers, the Campers Flea Market on this forum, other RPod forums(R Pod Nation, Facebbook R Pod owners, Forest River forums, etc).  Call forest River and ask for all the dealers withing 200 miles of you, etc, etc.  Used units have been found on Craig;s List and other internet RV sales sites.

Let me know if you have specific questions-happy to help
