I have a partially covered storage area for my future pod, it's a large 3 sided public storage area...but I'm hearing that weather damages the decal's.  I also hear that humidity creates molding under a cover.  I'm in Georgia, so humidity is an issue from time to time...and of course snow and hail.

What are your thoughts about covering the trailer?

Thanks so much!

Carrie

Living in south Florida we have more humidity than Georgia. In the begining we covered our RPod, when we noticed where ever there was sealant or caulking begin to have mold we took the cover off and haven"t used it since. The factory cover is well made but it hasn"t worked out well for us. Also with the cover when it rains a water puddle will form on the top and with us it would form alga.          David and Danette

When we bought our unit at LazyDays near Tampa, I asked the technical consultant during the walk through about a cover.  We told him that we would be parking it outdoors near Lakeland FL.  He was emphatic that we NOT cover it.  He said to wax it twice a hear and park it without a cover.  The only thing that he recommended for the unit was a MaxAir vent cover for the toilet fan cover which we had installed.  The MaxAir cover can be easily removed for cleaning out debris while washing before waxing.

Carrie, there was a bad batch of decals, I don't think weather is an issue.

Carrie, I think I understand that you want to keep it under a storage shed not trailer cover. I live in hilton head sc and I keep mine under a storage shed so there is plenty of circulation. I have no problems with mold or anything. If I kept it outside with a cover on it there is so much humidity it would probaly get mold and stick to the camper.  I hope this helps. Welcome and enjoy your new Pod!

Really good information here. I have been fretting about getting a cover for Escape Pod. But remembering many years ago having a Jag Jacket and the "goose bumps " my Jag got, hmmmmm.

The cover for the vent? I need to look that up and see what camping world has.

The MaxAir cover. Would be need to order that from our Pod dealer or Forest River instead of Camping World.

If you are thinking of covering your pod DO NOT use those plastic tarps.  A neighbor covered his PUP with one and it was covered in mold...not pretty.  We had a RV cover for a pop-up and used that to cover the top half of our rpod.  No problem.

Yes, any non-factory tarp must be breathable.  Coleman recommends no tarp for their popups, too many problems with heat build-up and moisture.
