Re-Securing Stereo/Electrical Unit To Wall

   What I like to call the "brains" of my R-Pod (the framing that holds my stereo head unit, water pump/heater switch, and the full to empty indicators) is falling off the wall. I first noticed a little sawdust on the ledge below the unit. Now I see the wood is hanging off the wall.
Behind the unit is the bathroom and the screws do not go all the way through there must be a shower board of some sort but put behind it which kind of make the screws impossible to access.

I thought about putting L Brackets to secure it in place but didnt want the securement of the L bracket to be held by a screw that goes into the roof because then I have a potential hole in my roof. I dont know if the L can be secured into the same wall the screw is coming out of because it clearly isnt working.

Any ideas on how to re-secure it so it functions well and looks decent? Hopefully the images do a better job explaining the issue than my above verbiage

	Hello and welcome! I can't help you with this particular problem, but I can offer a couple of tips. First, as long as you stick to length under an inch, you will be okay going into the outer wall or ceiling. On the shower side, I am not familiar with the construction on that model but on our 179, there is a space between the walls. On ours, it is the wardrobe. It is a thinner version of a wall in your house. Each side is covered with a nice looking layer over a frame. If you can find where that frame is, and if you can get to it, that would be best. Otherwise, an expanding anchor such as #6-32 x 1 in Hollow Wall Anchors will work well. I hope you have many fun adventures and make many great memories with your RPod once you get this little problem solved.

	BoardinGordon, see the picture below. I removed the cabinet in our 178 to rebuild it and found that both the side and bottom panels are only nailed in place and can be easily pried off. You'll be able to locate most all of the screws holding the cabinet on the wall. Though some can only be reached by also removing the radio. The bathroom wall is constructed with a 2x4 placed on edge inside the corner of the wall. To pull the cabinet up tight you could add additional screws through the cabinet framing and into the 2x4. You also may just find that the original screw was stripped out and all you have to do is move it to a another location.
