Even though I had reinforced my black tank discharge pipe with hanger iron, the iron strap and the original brace both failed on my last trip.  Fortunately the valve stayed closed and the tank was nearly empty, but the valve assembly is damaged and needs to be replaced.  I was wondering if it was possible to remove the original assembly without cutting it off?  I assume it is attached with PVC solvent.
If I did have to cut it off, it would be little more difficult to reach.  Or I could cut the 3" drain pipe farther back and add an extension.  Has anyone done this repair?
I have a 190 and the black and grey discharges are not connected.

Thanks!

Is the damage to the whole valve? If you pull the valve apart (4 bolts) can you replace the front and leave the rear original? I have never had mine apart, sorry I couldn't be more help.

The bottom bolt holes are damaged, so I have to replace the entire assembly.

I ground my valve down when the strap failed and it drug along the ground for a distance. If you remove the four bolts that holds the valve onto the pipe...you can put a new one on...both the front and back bolt together. I believe there is a lip in the pipe that allows the valve to seat to. I would remove the bolts and you will see clearly that the valve is replaceable.
