When I purchased our RP179, I took along two 6V batteries. Don't forget to take a jumper so they can be wired in series. The dealer won't provide that. You may also want to take a wrench set in case they tell you you will need to install them yourself. You should get a credit for the battery that the dealer is not providing. That is what my dealer did.

Hi Rick,

I got a 2021 R Pod 196 at the end of July 2020, and here is a list of items I have modified so far.

  1. Bathroom sink faucet (originally too short and close to the edge of the sink making it unusable)
  2. Sofa front panel (originally too tall and rubbing the floor every time the slide-out goes in and out)
  3. Winterizing system (the hose was originally too short and not flexible enough)
  4. Kitchen pantry shelf adjustable rubber brackets (the adjustable rubber brackets would pop out after a few trips due to the weight on the shelves)
  5. Dual 12V batteries (connected positive to positive and negative to negative) for longer reserve of 12V power

We purchased our 2019 180 and on one of our trips the shower leaked underneath. It was a significant amount of water. We unscrewed the base, dried the area up, and of course we did not use the shower for the remaining time of our trip. We had previously read about this, posted by other r-pod owners, and felt fortunate it had not happened to us. Indifferent of your weight, they don’t seem to support the shower base well and it happened to us, while under warranty. The dealer reenforced the base with 4x4. No more issues. Congratulations on your purchase, we have enjoyed ours. Smile
