Any clues on how to access the back of the Jensen AWM968 radio in a RP180? One of the exterior speakers is not working and I'm guessing the place to start looking is the cable hookups on the back of the radio. Can't figure out how to access them however. Maybe just start unscrewing all the screws on the faceplate? Thought I might do well to ask first.

I don't know about your model, but ours is in the 179. I took the radio out by unscrewing the four square headed screws on the face plate.  the screws are deeply recessed in each corner. when you unscrew the 4 screws, the entire radio will come out-not just a faceplate. It's a box about 5" deep with lots of short wires coming out the back.  It's best to have a helper hold the radio while you work on it.  I tried to prop it up on the top of a step ladder but could never get it out that far from the cabinet because of short wires.
Hope this helps

I would test that exterior speaker first.

Check the connections at the speaker first.

To access the rear of the radio, open the left most door To the cabinet above the dinette. There is a plate inside that is held in by one or 2 screws. Behind it is all the wiring.

+ 1 to checking the speaker connections first.  We had a silent speaker and when I pulled it off, I found one of the wires was not plugged onto the spade lug on the speaker.  When you pull off the speaker, be sure to have some dicor to reseal it.  Silicone caulk doesn't work well for that purpose.

Thanks for the suggestions. Indeed the speaker was not connected... However, even after I connected the wires it remained unresponsive. So... more work to do. I pulled the Jensen out far enough to see that the mass of wires  was not as simple as my old sterioWink.  I'm going to need some help, I'm afraid. Plus I discover that one of the two ceiling speakers inside the camper is not working. I switched the two interiors, and it's not the speaker -- it's the wiring, the connection, or the Jensen.
As least I'm narrowing it down.
Ken
And thanks for the tip on the dicor.

Got it!  Thanks.
And all the wiring is right!
