A quick question that many of you will be able to answer. What size socket fits on the tire lugs of an 2017 Rpod 178 trailer. I thought I saw it was 3/4", but then I saw something that said 19mm. I tried both sockets and really couldn't tell a difference in fit with either. Are the sizes that close to each other where it wouldn't make much difference which one you use? As always, thanks for the help.

Yes, they are too close to tell the difference. 19 mm = 0.748 inch.

I've used 3/4" for years on 2 different pods with no known problems. The stabilizer's bolt heads on my 179 are the same size. some sockets will vary depending on quality and the number of groves(6 or 12points as i recall) Either way, a deep well socket works best for my wheels. Vann |

I use a 6 point 3/4", +1 fits lugs and stabilizers. Deep socket.

Technically, the 19 mm will fit better, but not anything you would notice. Using either is fine.

If you have 'fancy wheels' make sure the socket walls are not too thick. If they are, the 3/4" may not turn because they are too tight in the lug nut hole. I've not tried a 19 mm.

The socket walls are indeed too thick for a normal 3/4" or 19mm socket to fit on my 2011 177 wheels. I have had to resort to using a 'thin wall' deep well 3/4" socket for a 1/2" drive ratchet.

I use these on my 178 HRE. My stock ones had a stainless steel cover over them and if anyone ever used a loose socket or a 13/16 on them they would deform and make it hard to remove the socket. It also slows down thieves.
