The Honda 2k will start and run the a/c if you install a Microair easystart in the a/c.

10-12% is the minimum tongue weight, not the max. The rule of thumb max is 15%, you will likely be getting close to it over that. But that’s not a hard limitation. With your f250, that will not be the limit. What I would be concerned about is overloading the tongue and rpod frame, it is not over engineered to say the least. I would reinforce it (going back under the trailer box several feet), or just keep the generator in the truck bed. It’s light enough to just put it wherever you want at the campsite, which also allows you to keep the noise level down for yourself and your neighbors.

I don’t think adding a big heavy generator on the tongue is a great idea, but you could just leave the big genny in the truck bed if you wanted to.

It’s not bad to install the easystart, the worst thing is you’re working on the roof doing it. The instructions are good and Microair is very helpful if you run into any problems. They sell a little install kit which makes it even easier but there’s not a lot in it. Took me about an hour IIRC. Then you run it through a few starts and it “learns” how to minimize creating current. No drawbacks other that the $300 I can think of, makes the a/c start more smoothly even when not using the generator.
