Hi,
We are in the market for a small trailer and so far are looking at Rpod (171 or 172) vs Escape 17B. Does anyone have any advice/experience? I went inside a 2014 Rpod 171 and didn't feel too great inside, the queen bed seemed totally tucked away and I felt a little like I was in a cocoon, and there is just a wide twin type size for the young kids to share. I saw a pic of the 172 and that seems better - with bunks and a more open plan for the bed - with open space next to the kitchen sink.

I like the fiberglass quality of the Escape, but for the same price or more, it is older.
We are only looking at used at this point.

Thanks!

I have the 172 and it is perfect for me. The two bunks are full twin-sized (some campers have smaller than normal twin beds) and that's where I sleep. The other end of the camper has a dinette that can be made into a double bed. I do not use it as that; I've removed the big table and added a bistro table that slides back out of the way, giving me a combined dining, lounging area.

I wouldn't trade mine for any other floor plan.
Good luck!

Hello and welcome
You did not specify how many people you were trying to sllep or what your needs were. I can say that for a couple, our 179 is perfect. It has plenty of kitchen space, lots of storage space and a very usable couch/dining area. We have used ours for over 4 years and love it.  We thinkit is perfect.
Good luck

Yeah...how many people? Just you?

I like my 171 BECAUSE of the 'tucked in' bed. I do not like the typical RV bed that has 2 or 3 sides open...but then there is no one else sleeping with me that might need to crawl over me at 3 am for 'needful' things...other than my little pooch and I can't accidentally knock her off the bed since the 171 bunk is surrounded by walls nearly all the way around....like a proper truck sleeper bunk that I slept in for 40 years...feels very 'homey' to me!
r・pod 171 gone but not forgotten!
