Love the RDome but it's not always practical. Wanted to buy a Paha Qua visor but it takes six weeks and I am traveling without an address anyway. I started trying to build an attachable awning (found some suggestions on here but they I couldn't get them to work).

I bought one of those mesh shade covers they call sails (the wind goes though them which is great for keeping it from coming down but would be useless for an actual sail).  I got one on sale for $10 but that exact one isnt available now. These shades are lighter than the tarp I had been trying to use.  I also bought collapsible poles,  heavy duty suction cups, and tarp clips.

Instead of trying to attach to my keder rail I attached the shade to the top of the pod with the suction cups. I used a couple of tarp clips with suction cups in the middle for extra support and two guy lines on each pole. It looks great and is working great.  Cost me about $100 including the stuff I tried that didn't work.

I've never succeeded at posting images here but I'll post amazon links in case you want to see what I used.

Looks a bit cumbersome but if it is working well for you, great!  Also what a lot of others use because the dome seems to be cumbersome to some as well is a clam.  They go up in a couple minutes and can be put away in the same amount of time.
