Hi, I have bought the R-Pod 193 (20ft -4200 CCC) and I will towing it with Grand Cherokee that came from factory, (Towing Group IV), This group includes  TSC - Trailer Sway Control (Details - https://jeepspecs.com/wk-generation/wk-jeep-electronics-lighting/trailer-sway-control/).

My questions: Even with this TSC included in Grand Cherokee, some people saying that I need to install external Sway control like this:e2™ Hitch | Fastway Trailer ?

Does anyone have similar scenario and don't use this external TSC or see the need to install it?

Trailer sway control is different from the vehicle sway control. The TSC will adjust power and apply wheel brakes to the tow vehicle to try to reduce sway. Trailer sway control adds external sway control. One alternative is to use electronic sway control that will activate the trailer's brakes such as that from Hayes or Tuson.

Hey Stephen, thank you for the reply...So in my case even I have the system in the car ,I should install one of these 2 options(mechanical or electronic), or just the system at car is enough?

Do you have any of these models? they efficient as the "mechanical" Sway control?

I have an Equal-i-zer 4-point sway control hitch. One time, it proved to be insufficient. That was when I hit ice with a strong cross-wind. It was after that when I added the Hayes Sway-Master electonic sway control. It activates the trailer's brakes if it detects a sway condition. Tuson has a more expensive model that will activate the trailer's brakes independently. I tink Lippert has gotten into the act now as well. I don't have model numbers in front of me, but you could check eTrailer.

I think if I had thought to use the manual control to apply the trailer brakes when we had the accident, it might have been enough to pull the trailer back in line and I would have been able to recover. As it was, in the middle of the incident, I just did not think of it as I was trying to countersteer to recover, which did not work.

We have an anti-sway control with the tow package in our F-150, but also use a Fastway e2 WDH.  It works great and makes the ride, especially in high cross-winds, much more comfortable.

We also have a trailer sway control switch where upon we can activate when towing our 177.  In addition we also utilize a $ 40 Curt anti-sway bar which has worked extremely well.  Have used the Curt bar for 11 years and over 36,000 miles on many various road conditions, snow, sleet, ice, and rain as well as off road - no issues.

I am a new one here, but have the same situation. I tow my 177 with a 2021 Ranger. It has electronic sway control. I have a Curt sway bars. I use both electronic and physical controll both work well together.

I have the Hayes unit like Stephen's and use it with my Escape which has electronic sway control as well.  I have felt the Hayes unit activate several times usually when the wind picks up.  It really works well for me.

I have a 2021 Grand Cherokee with no external sway control and it pulls my 177 fine with very little to no sway. But, I don't drive a 100 mph either. Smile

We do utilize a friction bar but also noted when pulling our 177 for 8 years with a couple different Explorer's (2008 and 2013) that tongue weight was critical to reduce/eliminate sway.  Fully loaded with 36 gallons of water + food + everything else needed for camping for a month the weight was 2940 lbs.  11% of that or more need to be on the tongue which in the above case was 323 lbs.  We have a pair of 12v batteries and a pair of 20# propane tanks on the a-frame.  Tongue weight was 340 so we are good to go.
