I noticed when I took the cover off after this winter that the horizontal stripes on the side of our RPod have spidery cracks in them. Is there a way to repair them, or should I remove the vinyl stripes altogether? Do they come off easily, or does one have to use a solvent, and if so, which one?
I understand that FR don't keep a stock of these older stripes, and the newer ones are a different color.
Any suggestions would be a help.
Thanks so much.

A friend of ours used a hair dryer with a plastic scraper and the decals came of rather easily.  They then applied a little bit of "Goo Gone" to get rid of the sticky left behind.

For 11+ years I have used a product called 'Protect All' on all the decals on our 177.  I put it on 2x year. Spray it on, let sit for 30 seconds and then wipe off.  The decals still look nearly new with just a little bit of crazing, but no cracks.

Ours has the same issue on the side that faces the sun most of the time while it's in storage. The decals, sadly, do not hold up well in UV. Jato's suggestion is great, except ours are already half gone (the south half). My personal choice will probably be to just remove them and to go unadorned.

We just went through this as well. Hopefully your stripe is still pliable enough that a hair dryer and Goo Gone do the trick. Our stripes and decals were hard and brittle so we had to use a heat gun on high setting, a metal scraper and Rapid Remover. We did purchase some replacement decals from RVDecals Direct. They are pricey but we want to have something on the green Pod. Plan on having a stripe made from outdoor sign vinyl as well.

Best of luck!

Thanks so much for the reply, I'll try with the hairdryer and solvent and see what happens!

Yes, just the sunny side when in storage! I'll try with the hairdryer and solvent and see how it does.
Thanks so much for the reply.

Thanks, all good suggestions, I'll probably have to do both sides for conformity, as my wife says! Bit concerned about using a heat gun or torch, I am not quite that handy!
Thanks again.
