Hello All
Just came back from a camping trip and we smelled propane from the Rpod propane tank hose leading to the regulator. Is that something a novice can fix or time to find a shop to repair it? Thanks Barry

Grab a couple wrenches of the correct size and see if you can tighten the connection where the leak is occuring. Maybe the connection came loose. Make up a soapy solution and place the bubbles over where you think the leak is coming from to verify the location of the leak. If you cannot find the leak it is possible the valve from the tank itself is leaking and will have to be replaced by a qualified person.

We had the same thing happen and it turned out to be a bad pigtail from the tank to the regulator. Just replaced the hose, the one that fastens onto the tank. It's a part that's easy to find and not expensive. just be sure to get one long enough to have slack in it so it doesn't pull on the fittings.

Oh, and be sure to use gas compatible pipe thread sealant.

The pipe sealant can also be YELLOW teflon tape-available at most hardware and big box home stores. Travel safe and often Vann

Yep, the yellow teflon tape is one of the gas compatible pipe thread sealants. That's what I used when I replaced the pigtail. Be sure not to use the white tape unless the package data specifically states it is gas compatible. The problem is non-gas compatible sealants, tape or paste, can deteriorate with gas exposure and lead to a leak.
