New to me 182G! And questions . . .

Hi folks,

Just picked up a used 182G, my first camper trailer. Glad to see there's an enthusiastic and knowledgeable on-line community.

I swore I wouldn't start messing with it until I got house projects done, but here I am. A couple questions:


Electrical: it appears the 120 shore power just runs straight from the exterior hook up, through the breaker panel, and to the 120V outlets and appliances (couldn't find a wiring diagram anywhere). So, it looks like if I want to run appliances without shore power (which will be 99% of the time), I need to a) replace the appliances with 12v models and re-wire through the 12v fuse block, b) use an inverter between the battery and 120v breaker box, bypassing the shore power input or c) hook up a generator to the shore power connection -- this is my preferred approach, although I'll be using a GoalZero yeti, so I'll need to put in a hook up for that on the inside since the Goal Zero isn't weather proof and a selector switch to change between that or shore power. Has anyone done this, or see any problems I haven't anticipated?


Wheels: I'd like to match the wheels on my tow vehicle, which is on a 6 x 5.5 spacing, both because I'd like to get a few more inches of ground clearance, smoother ride, and redundancy with spare tires under the 'one is none, and two are one' approach. I'm thinking of using some hub adaptors like these:

anyone tried this? Or can I just replace the hubs with a Dexter set that has the 6 x 5.5 bolt pattern? I measured the offsets for the wheels and they'll fit, although I'll need to move the fenders up a couple inches.  They're 10 ply 265/70R17 for what its worth, and the Rpod already has the spacers installed above the axles, so I'm probably looking at 7-8" of lift overall above the stock.
