I just bought two motor craft deep cell batteries and I gave them the old interstate battery.  The only problem is... I can't tell which wire from the pod is positive and which one is negative.  I could have sworn that the red was negative and the white positive, but when I got the batteries, there was a red cover on the positive side of the battery.  I really don't want to reverse them.  Thanks again for helping out the dumb guy.  Embarrassed  Again, I have a red wire and a white wire coming from the pod... which is positive, which is negative?

Just wanted to bump this to the top.  I'd like to parallel hook-up these batteries tonight.  Oh, and I did copy from the post the parallel diagram... which also illustrates that the red wire is the positive.  I'm still not sure about my pod though.  Thanks for the help.

On campers, black is positive and white is negative.  Confusing, since on cars black is negative and red is positive.  To be sure I just double-checked with the battery from my popup which is in my garage and it has the same colors on the + and -.  To be really confusing, I'm pretty sure on my 'pod they use black and red like on cars!  Too far out in the dark right now to go check.

One way you can verify this, trace the black wire along the frame and a few feet back you should see a circuit breaker (small box).

Thanks.  I figured it out.  Red is the positive line and White is the negative line from the Pod.  Well, I didn't blow anything up when I hooked it up and things seem to be charging and running with both batteries in place pretty smoothly.  Smile  Oh, and I read in the fuse box inside the Pod that if you reverse polarity, you will blow the main fuse.  Either way, it was a miracle that I was able to have three lights on inside without it draining the battery to nothing within an hour.  That is what was happening to me with the interstate battery that was no doubt the original from the previous Pod owner.  I'm going to take good care of these two batteries that I just added (i.e. battery tenders for both this winter).  I'm guessing that since the Pod sat on the dealer's lot all winter, it was probably never plugged in to charge, thus the battery was dead on arrival... or the previous owners drained that battery to zero continually.  Either way, I've already noticed a huge difference now that I've coupled two batteries together.  Star  I plan on boondocking a lot, so the extra battery is necessary.  So was the purchase of that Yamaha 2000 inverter genny.  Eventually, I am going to RV or should I say Pod fulltime.  Yes, you heard me... I'm planning on becoming a traveling scholar.  That is to say, I plan on traveling the country and visiting or studying at numerous universities across the country.  I'm not married anymore, so the sky is the limit.

By the way, I still haven't figured out how to get my TV antenna working.  I saw where the button was located and pressed the button and the light turned green, but when I turn on the TV to the TV setting, I just get "no signal" on the screen.  Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

As for the TV did you run a channel scan to have it automatically find receivable stations.  Whenever we go to a park out of our normal range, I always run a channel scan.  Something to try.
