Took or new RP 176 to Crystal Beach on the upper Texas Gulf Coast and stayed in our first RV park. It was about a 75 minute drive from home. 2003 Tundra V6 did a good job of pulling with over drive off. No problem with the Rpod, read all of the manuels, interesting that they tend to talk more about liability and instalation and very little about how to operate the appliance. Tell me if I Am right or wrong?. The switch located in the water heater is for the electric element? The switch in the camper labeled water heater with the indicator light is for the gas fired part of the water heater? The instruction never seem to make this clear at least to me. Sunday afternoon, we had been at the beach all day, came back showered, changed, streached out on the dinette seats and watched a PBS series on the DVD in the cool of the pod, my wife laughed and said, "It just doesn't get any better than this.. Only real problem was all the people who keep coming by asking if the could look inside... Hard part of that was not looking to proud. Clark

You are correct. The outside switch is for the electric element and the one inside is for propane heat. Sounds like you had a nice trip. We have had people want to look at our Pod also, they do draw attention. Smile

One thing to be aware of with the electric side of the water heater - be sure that your water heater tank is FULL before firing up the electric water heater. If there's no water in the tank when you turn the electric element on, it WILL burn up, which is not covered under warranty.

Yes thank. The manual is very specific for that. Another question. The 176 has the intertainment center. I couldn't seem to get the cable tv to work. I think that the small black switch next to the cable plug inside the camper switches between the cable and the antena? When switch to cable and the cabe was connected to the outside cable connector I then tried to get the tv to play cable, tried auto programing and nothing worked. Luckily we brought some DVD's would have been nicer to watch the race. Any suggestion appreciated.

Be prepared to give tours everywhere you go!  Sorry I can't help on the television issue, I've never tried to hook up cable or use the over-the-air abilities.

You have two connection choices on the wall of the entertainment ctr.  One is for the regular antenna I believe the other is for cable (assuming you have attached a cable connection to the outside connection to the right of the slide-out.)
