Could be.  With all the Comcast Optimum Cable or Satellite wired in this area, they may not have any over the air VHF/UHF signal.  I remember in the distant past, we may have been able to get a snowy 2 to 3 channels.  Don't know about now... and whether there are any over the air broadcasts anymore up this way.

Next time you are nearer to a big city try again.  Some broadcasters went to lower powered transmitters when they switched over, so if you were marginal before you may truly have nothing now.
