The national forest is located in northern Florida along I-10 between Jacksonville and Lake City.  I was camped in the East Tower Hunting camp.  There are no hookups.  Not even a dump station.  There isn't even any designated camping sites.  You just pull in and park.  There is no registration and its free.  Stay as long as you like.  If you like it quiet this place is for you.  During the day all you hear are birds and at night all you hear is tree frogs!  Tall pine trees and live oaks covered with Spanish moss.

Wild life:  Bears, rattle snakes, deer, armadillos, eagles, ospreys, wild pigs and the usual small games and critters.

Campgrounds and hunting camps:  There is 1 full hookup type campground within the forest and it is run by the forest service.  It is located at Ocean Pond.  There are 9 hunting camps scattered all over the forest and are all free.

You can camp any place in the forest free.  During deer season though you must camp in one of the designated camps.

Here is a really nice place I found on one one of the trails.  Notice the ropes hanging down over the swimming hole.

That last picture wasn't the right one for there.  That is where someone put bee hives.  I couldn't get the picture out though.

Well, they are there now - but they weren't this morning.  Very odd.

Those pics remind me of the coast of North Carolina where I grew up.   Almost makes me homesick!
