Found problem with hard starting furnace, yesterday afternoon I tried to light stove, it would come on normal and then diminish to barely on in about 3 seconds, I figured the Dealer did not fill tank. Took the tank to get it filled and the guy weighted it and said, its almost full of gas but the tank needs to be purged of air. Apparently LP is in a liquid form and lays on the bottom and the air rises to the top, appliances will not run on air, after he purged the tank for about 5 minutes and reweighted it I reinstalled it, the stove works great and the furnace lights first time. BAD OLD AIR, the dealer should have caught this during pre delivery

	Glad you hear you solved it. Yes, the top 20% of a fully-filled tank is "air" space that holds evaporated propane (the liquid expands in hot weather which uses some of that space, too). Purging it is part of the normal filling process so its odd that you had a problem with that.

	A new tank "should" be purged before use.. I know when we bought our 30#ers that was the first thing they did. Took about 5 minutes a tank.. then they filled them.
