Great idea with the shower cap. Just don't forget to remove it after eating your toast.

+2 on the shower cap idea.....except I don't have a shower cap.I don't cook inside but, I get a lot of alarms from smoke wafting into the camper from the campfire.
I may try something like a sandwich bag.

Attach a big red streamer to it - like one of those "Remove before flight" tags.
