Donna and I have a 2011 RP-172, I think only the Hobbs River jobs come with the diamond plate, I thought about it, I checked on the cost, you can get it from Forrest River, its not that much, but I keep thinking about weight versus function, we don't do any off roading with the pod, and I think I am going to wait to see how the front end takes the water, sand and gravel kicked up from the road. I think the worse beating the front of the pod would be taking would be rain water picking up grit and sand from the road surface and hitting the front end of the pod, I am going to keep a good coat of wax on the front end and see what happens, let us know what you do. good luck.

I am very happy with the stuff I put on my pod. My niece has a deck with that stuff on it, after 15 years it
still looks good. (dek-master by ducan)

After 2 years and almost 6,000 miles (10,000 km) on the POD I haven't seen the need for it unless you like the look of diamond plate. No stone chips, only a a few bugs that come off with a quick wash. That aluminum diamond plate is pretty light, I would be surprized if it weighed more than 10 pounds for the whole piece that they use on the front. Sorry to our friends up north I don't know off-hand what the conversion from pounds to kilos would be.  Goose
