Welcome fellow podder! Definitely get the risers but also take some time to read through some of the old posts on this site. We found so much good information there when we were newbies.

We have taken a few 'rough' roads in the U.P. of Michigan (unpaved) AND my only regret is that I didn't have the axle risers. Result was that the two rear jacks got kinda bent up. Kept the speed down - didn't have any other issues. As to the jacks, a few good whacks with my splitting maul got them back to 'almost normal' although when I jack them up there is a slight wow in the threaded screw in the middle. Experience is a good teacher if you can learn from your mistakes AND remember them.

I wouldn't consider this without installing the axle riser 1st.

has anyone expeirence with taking their rpod on rough roads? forest rds. off piste areas, how did the unit hold up? did the unit bounce all over? was there any damage as a result? I am thinking of useing an rpod as a base camp for back packing and some other wilderness stuff. I would take containered water
for drinking and such to reduce weight. how would a slide on the rpod hold up under these conditions? any input is appreiciated. any problems you might know that i should watch for would be helpfull as well.
