Yup, it was the sway bar.  Didn't tighten it as much this last trip out and it made a huge difference ... thanks!

Although everything above is undoubtedly true, there is one hitch that absolutely requires lubrication each and every tow.
 
If you have a trunion style load distributing hitch, as we do, you must keep the upper and lower trunion arm pockets lubed.  We use a heavy silicone grease, but any heavy grease will minimize wear.

That is optional for the E2 and Equalizer (trunnion style).  See page 15 item f:

Different recommendations from different manufacturers, I guess.  Curt makes it very clear that the trunion pockets be cleaned and re-greased after (or before) every tow.
