My wife and I just purchased a 2013 RPod 178 and will be picking it up 01/09/2013.  We have a Ford F-150 V-6 with 'EcoBoost' (3.73 ratio).  We look forward to pulling that pod soon!

Welcome aboard, and I'll betcha you will not have to worry if your tow rig can do the job with your Pod. Nice combo!

I do like the U-shaped dinette, but our 177 at 18' is as much as I care to pull.  You should have no
problem with the 178 and your pickup.

Welcome!  We hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.  We are headed out for the first trip of the
new year in a week or so.  Living in Florida has its advantages!

(edit)-  Looking at the photos on the Nation web site, I notice that the entertainment center is the same
cheesy Audiovox as in the 177.  When Tech first posted the preliminary floor plan a few months ago, I
remember seeing the entertainment center on the left wall by the door, closer to the dinette.  Must have
been deemed too expensive......

Welcome aboard.  Let us know about that 178.  I am curious about them, being an upgrade from our 177.

My wife who is an avid reader of this forum, and a legitimate critic of my postings, just admonished me
for my calling the Audiovox unit "cheesy".

It in no way was intended to diminish, the excitement of a new R-Pod delivery, and may in fact be totally
acceptable to the new owners.  My bad, and my apology.

For those of us who don't feel a need to watch much tv when camping the Audiovox units are fine.

As they say, "After further review....."  I returned to the Couch RV Nation site to take a closer look
at the RP 178 photos.  One definitely shows the 177-type entertainment module over the bed, but there
is another pic that shows an antenna (or maybe satellite) F-connector on the wall as shown on the
floor plan.  I missed it the first time 'cause there's no television, just the AC plug and F-connector plates.

Maybe the 178 has both-  the Audiovox and the option to add your own flat screen, or maybe the photo
showing the over-the-bed console was just a stock photo, and is actually from a 177.

I don't know why it matters so much to me, except that my dislike for the Audiovox unit has been pretty
well documented.  I'll shut up, now....
