Since my dealer was going to work on the light bar recall, I asked them to also install new lights just below the light bar.  They already were going to have one of the side channels open to run wires up to the light bar so it wouldn't be difficult.  I had to buy the exact ones I wanted and forward them, since I didn't want them too wide or with colored lenses and their catalog didn't have that exact style.  I've never been very happy with the low and small brake lights on the pod, and with an upcoming tour of the southern US it was time to add some extra visibility.

They royally screwed up the first time around even though I clearly detailed what I wanted in an email... they hooked both of them up to the brake controller output.  What the !@#$?  So as a result when I drove 3 hours round trip to pick it up last weekend I ended up having to leave it there.  I was definitely not a happy camper.  They cleared it up yesterday - hooking each one up to the left and right brake lights, respectively, like I wanted - and made amends by sending someone to drop it off at my house so I wouldn't waste another 3 hours of my life this Saturday going to get it.  Again.

Looks GREAT!!!! I see that you got the lights with the clear or white lense and red LED lights so when they are off the lights are almost invisible.
Nice foil job. We had to do the same to cut the amount of heat that would build up in the back. Sure makes a big difference.  Goose
PS. Now all you need to do is to take a bunch of 2 or 3 inch yellow LED lights and start at the front on the side and follow the curve all the way to the back so it looks like a circus wagon when lit up at night.    Tongue

Goose, that is exactly what my goal was - unobtrusive until I hit the brakes, then "look at me!" while I slow down.  I thought I saw foil in your picture!  Yes, it works great keeping out heat and light.  We have blackout curtains on the other windows so it is very dark when we want to sleep in.

Walt, I got mine from etrailer.com.  They have a ton of choices.  These are the specific ones I chose, but I considered the thin row of red LEDs I've see mounted on pickups just below the tailgate which would have been even less visible when off.  Oh, I should mention that the ones I chose have a running/marker light function along with the brighter brake light function.  Since the new light bar already has the marker lights I asked that they not be hooked up.  My goal was only to add brake/turn lights.
