Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy your new camper.  Yes you need a brake controller, I think the law is anything over 2,000 lbs. Try amazon.com or Camping World for the propane tank cover.    David

Welcome!  Both of those items can be found online or through any well-stocked RV dealership.

My understanding is that if the trailer weighs 1500lbs. or more, a brake controller is required.  Safe Travels.

According to towing requirements from your province this is what I have found.

When are Brakes Required on Trailers

If the trailer has a gross laden weight more than 910 kg

If the trailer weighs 50 per cent or more of the towing vehicle

If you will Google towing requirements in Ottowa Canada you will have access to their rules and regulations.  Each of our states have different requirements, and it would seem to me, this is not the place to ask. Safe Travels.

Welcome.  Many here recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy line of brake controllers.  I won't use anything else.
