1. Turn off Tv speakers in the Audio menu on tv.
2. Then change audio from variable to fixed (this is grayed out until you turn off tv speakers)
3. On the back of tv make sure the white and red Rca cable is plugged into the audio out 
4. Back of stereo switch Rca plugs to audio in
5. On stereo use the Aux 1 button when viewing tv

This came directly from Jensen stereo.

Hmmm...my Jensen TV drives the Jensen stereo head even with the speakers on.
The volume controls continue to be separate, I can control the TV speakers and the stereo speakers independently.
