I want to install a couple hooks and a shelf in the kitchen/slide out of our 178 and a grab handle in the bathroom. Is there wood in any of the walls? What are people using for wall anchors?

Several of us have used Molly bolts for bigger stuff. I used 1 1/4". The only handle I added I mounted directly to a wood stud.

Thanks. Do you know if there's a wood stud in the bathroom? My stud finder is useless in the pod. |

There are wood studs on the interior bathroom walls. But, of course, if you use molly bolts, you don't need studs.
But, you might want to consider if 3M Command hooks will do the job. Also, Scotch Mounting Tape works very well for 2-3 lb items (and can be cleanly removed afterwards, with a little patience).

This may provide some insight, but you will still probably have to probe for the framing.

As far as mounting the handle in the bathroom, if its opposite from the toilet you can remove the access panel on the bed side to see where studs are as well as looking in the wall from under the sink. I've done both (looking where studs are, and are not) for a tv mount on the bed side, and a reassessed (between studs) marine toilet paper holder.

Thanks, I'll have a look but we want to mount that handle on the outside wall closer to the toilet. Maybe sheet metal screws will hold if it's just sheet aluminum; if not, I guess it'll be molys. |
