First, we are camping trailer newbies, need to get our 2002 Honda Odyssey ready to pickup the R-pod 179.  We got the hitch, brake controller and 7-pole connector installed at U-Haul.  Next will be the Automatic Transmission Fluid cooler and the Power Steering cooler (as suggested by Honda).  We have the following questions if you can help - thanks in advance.
1. Do we need the PS cooler?
2. Should we consider an ATF and PS cooler combo unit (e.g., Derale D15902)?
3. Any suggestion on ATF and PS coolers manufacturer and model?
4. Honda parts more reliable? (they are certainly more expensive.)
5. Do we need to go to a Honda dealership to get it done? or a Meineke?
6. Anybody out there towing R-pod with an older Odyssey? anything we should be aware of?
7. <a non-cooler question> Do we need to beef up the rear suspension for our 2002 Honda Odyssey?

A power steering cooler is a maybe.  I didn't need one for our Sienna.  Derale is a known aftermarket cooler manufacturer, they make the transmission cooler I added to our Suburban.  Check out etrailer for a good assortment of manufacturers and types.  Read up on the types of coolers, see item 3 on this page.  http://www.etrailer.com/faq-about-engine-transmission-coolers.aspx

Any mechanic should be able to install an aftermarket cooler.  My local guy installed our tranny cooler and will soon install an oil cooler.

All minivans are designed to carry people so they have soft rear suspensions.  Forget air bags, stronger springs, etc.  What you need is a weight distribution hitch (WDH).  Search this forum for many discussions on that topic.

Thanks techntrek.
We plan to have both ATF and PS coolers installed. Also got the Equalizer E2 6000. Hopefully my 2002 Odyssey is going to work out well... and last.
