Thanks for the welcome and thoughts on the question asked. I hadn't thought of using it that way but sounds like good advice.

Hello welcome, I have been camping for about 40 years and I think what was missing from the instructions was the fact that plugging in the protector and waiting till the lights turn green is the fact the the power at the poll is correct and the it is wired correct. When the protector has confirmed that leave the protector plugged in and turn the power off at the post. then you can plug in your camper and turn the electric back on. What they want you to do is to check the power and wiring before you plug in your camper.

Well I'm going to ask a newbie question that I couldn't find the answer to after searching. So if this has already been asked and answered I'll apologize up front.

I bought a Camco Defender surge protector. The instructions say plug it in and wait for it to check the campsite power. (About 140 seconds) Then after it turns green plug in your camper. Now that means I'm plugging in the POD to a hot surge protector. Everything I've researched here on the forum, it is recommended that power be off when you plug in the POD.

So, can anyone chime in on the proper procedure when using a protector that has to do all this stuff before you plug in?

Thanks and again sorry if this has already been answered.
